Cheonggyecheon: Echoes of Industry 2014
In the heart of Seoul, machines once sang.
Hands shaped metal, stories sparked between tools,
and the rhythm of collaboration echoed through narrow alleys.
This project began as a record—
but became a farewell to a way of life slowly fading.
Even as the tool shops vanished under development’s shadow,
I photographed the lingering gestures of craft,
the quiet dignity of a disappearing world.
This is not just about preservation.
It is about honoring what still breathes beneath concrete dust—
and asking how memory becomes material again.
