RED Sea 2022
From a distance, the sea was calm.
But as I moved closer, it changed—
waves rising like demons,
threatening to consume.
This work began in that moment,
when I saw my wounds reflected in the red surf.
Red: for blood, for pain, for the warning I couldn’t voice.
The trembling in my hands became the trembling in the image.
By entering the sea,
I entered myself—
and through that confrontation,
I began to heal.
These photographs are not a retreat from pain,
but a way of standing inside it.
I hope they offer a space
for others to look at their wounds without shame,
and perhaps, to begin again.
